Having a sketchbook to express your process in a visual presentation is beneficial as it allows you to easily showcase your construction techniques and have discussions with external contributors to further develop your range. With all of this under consideration “Hollywood Classics” Begun getting more and more refined.

Zoning in on a handful of actresses known for their style; Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich, and Elizabeth Taylor. Individually they all bring something to this range.

One example is Marlene Dietrich’s Womanised Power Suit famously worn in "Morocco" changing perceptions across the globe. Another is, Audrey Hepburn and her Structured silhouettes these gowns accentuated her hourglass figure with boned bodices, and added hip padding relate a lot to the "New Look" for Dior. Finally, Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe are known for their Sexy Silhouettes. Highlighting a women's assets in a modest way through Ruching, Gathering, Pleating. Through analysing how I can move these ideas forward into a modernised concept, an option for secondary inspiration came to mind. Hollywood jewels, Breakfast at Tiffany’s fantasied beauty in wearing gorgeous jewels, therefore with the accessibility of 3D printers developing modernised jewels such as belts, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings were decided as the secondary inspiration. Incorporating the jewels worn by the actress' in alternative innovative ways.

While researching trends to have a strong reference to the current style, ensuring there is a similar amount on the Old Hollywood Era to keep the designs genuine. Through the research, it was noted that a plethora of movie stars had a very “New Look Dior” Silhouette. Noting the similarity Between Audrey Hepburn in the little black dress designed by Edith Head and Dior’s New Look little black dress.

Pleating, Gathering, and Ruching have been incorporated into a couple of the designs to test their design ability. Fabric manipulation in the form of pleating will be seen throughout the range in very delicate pleating in one of the designs. In addition, a strong drape gathered pleating on a side slit of another garment. Sourcing Fabrics to expand the possibility for the elements to be created for the range has been quite difficult due to the financial cost that the designer has to create this range. However, that hiccup is only a little limitation and there are connections they can use to acquire the right materials to assure their designs are stunningly Old Hollywood but still innovative and modern.
